Stephen King is known as the king of horror and after writing many best-selling novels; some of his works have been transformed into horror films.  Possibly the most successful has been the Shining.

        The plot revolves around the Torrance family of three, moving to a secluded hotel named the Overlook so that the father, Jack, can act as the caretaker during the winter months whilst there are no visitors.

As the winter drags on, isolation sets in and a number of bizarre incidents occur.

The son, Danny, develops a mental gift to predict things and read thoughts and he encounters evil around the hotel and in room 217 as the story of the previous caretaker Grady unfolds that he axed his wife and two daughters to death.
